Steele Pug Mills deliver the high-torque continuous mixing you need, with minimal maintenance requirements and fast replacement of wearing parts for reduced downtime and lower operating costs. Our pug mills offer rugged construction, including frames cast with our heavy ductile iron, heavy-duty gears and bearings, large diameter shafts and pneumatic clutches.

The new 10A Pug Mixer — High-intensity continuous mixing for testing or small production lines
High-intensity continuous mixing for reliable low-tonnage and small footprint requirements. The 10APM eliminates stoppages caused by larger mixers that over-run the extruder.
Accelerate or retard material flow
Steele pug mills use replaceable pug knife blades cast with our high chrome iron alloy. These adjustable-pitch knives fit on the shaft in overlapping spirals to move material to the discharge end of the tub (you can set the knife pitch to accelerate or retard material flow).
Our pug mills use knives instead of paddles, for better mixing and de-airing of liquids and/or sludges with dry solids.
